Materials: Design-Craft cabinets, granite countertops, porcelain tile shower with river rock edge
Features: Custom-built wall with colorful back-lighting
We can’t get enough of this Manoa bathroom remodel! After speaking with the homeowner and seeing the space, we knew we would need to completely remodel the existing bathroom. We wanted to take the old, dull bathroom and turn it into a fully updated, zen space that was a truly relaxing place to get ready in each morning.
Possibly the most striking element of this Hawaii bathroom remodel is the custom-built, back-lit wood wall. Custom lighting features are a great way to add some subtle personality to a space without it feeling too overwhelming. In addition to a more standard overhead light fixture, we installed a fully-custom lighting element behind the vanity’s mirror. These strips of light have a number of different color settings that the homeowner can control and change whenever they’d like. We are really pleased with the final result!
To further add to the zen-like feel of the space, we chose natural, organic-looking materials for the countertop and shower. The countertop is a beautiful, hand-selected granite that nicely complements the colorful lighting above it. For the shower, we installed lightly-colored porcelain tiles along the shower walls. Then, to add another natural element, we installed multi-colored river rock on the shower floor, running up the corner of the shower all the way to the ceiling. Lastly, we chose warm wood tones for the cabinets and paneling on the back wall to add one more natural, relaxing touch.
We’re so proud of how this bathroom remodel turned out. It’s a relaxing and tranquil space that we hope our homeowners will enjoy for years to come.
